Michelle Trostler is an avid genetic genealogist and founder of Identify Family. Michelle attended and spoke at both of the Institute for Genetic Genealogy’s 2017 and 2018 conferences and is a member of CeCe Moore’s DNA Detectives. Michelle attended the Council for the Advancement of Forensic Genealogy’s Advanced DNA Practicum in both 2015 and 2016 as well as many other genealogical conferences where she has learned about DNA and its uses as well as the art of ferreting out the living who possess the DNA needed to confirm or disprove a genealogical theory.
This summer, Michelle will stay up to date on the latest in genetic genealogy by attending CeCe Moore’s Advanced Genetic Genealogy course at the Genealogy Research Institute of Pittsburgh (GRIP).
Michelle holds a BA in Sociology from UC San Diego and an MA in Sociology from USC. She worked for 10 years in high tech as a digital marketer where she grew her appetite for mounds of data. Now she applies may of those same skills to genetic genealogy.
Michelle is a firm believer that we are like trees and without roots we cannot stand. While many are content to live their lives without knowing the past that gave birth to them, others burn to know their heritage and feel hollow when they do not. Whether you seek immediate relatives or the ancestors of ancestors, DNA and Identify Family can help.
